The Hesed Christmas Store started with one simple belief: families would prefer to provide for themselves at Christmas rather than receive a hand out. The Christmas Store is a program designed to provide the families of the Brightmoor neighborhood of Detroit the opportunity to shop for their families at greatly reduced cost. It’s about fostering joy, generosity, and community! Therefore we partner annually with generous individuals and organizations to supply a “Pop-Up” Christmas Store that provides toys, games, sports equipment and winter coats for families at 90% off their retail prices. The store is open to parents who are currently living in the 48223 zip code: between the major crossroads of Telegraph (West) and Evergreen (East), Schoolcraft (South) and Fenkell (North). On the scheduled shopping date parents must bring proof of identification along with the confirmation notice we will send to you. If you are a Brightmoor resident interested in shopping this year, please register HERE: If you don’t live in Brightmoor, and would like to help support the store, please consider one of the following opportunities: 1. Invite people you know to shop for gifts in order to build the inventory for the store. You can shop on your own or find suggestion lists at: Hesed Christmas Store Gift Registry Once you shop, you may either have items shipped to us or arrange to drop off the gifts with us at HesedCC @ gmail . com 2. Make a donation so that other people can shop on your behalf: https://hesedcc.org/support/ 3. Volunteer to help setup or serve parents during the store hours on December 16-17: Signup sheet located here: Signup Genius |
